This is a large wood frame building constructed around the time of the Civil War for use by the on-site manager of the ironworks, Mr. Cunningham. The manager reported to his boss, the superintendent of all the company operations, P.R. George who lived in a fine house which is now Ringwood Borough Hall on Margaret King Road. Mr. George in turn reported to his superior, Abram S. Hewitt who might be at Ringwood Manor in the summer, New York City or the main manufactory in Trenton. This was the nicest house in the village and structurally is holding its own. We do hope to restore the building and perhaps come up with an adaptive reuse for it.
